Long Island Men's Soccer (LIMS) is an established recreational league that celebrates the spirit and passion for soccer among adults. Since the mid-70s, we have been fostering a community where men over 30 from Nassau and Suffolk counties can enjoy the beautiful game.
Recognizing the importance of family time, especially on weekends, all our league matches are thoughtfully scheduled for Sunday evenings between 5:30 and 7:30 PM. This timing is considerate of your Sunday traditions, whether they involve religious obligations, family breakfasts or brunches, dinners, or coaching little-league games. Sunday evenings are reserved for your ‘soccer time’—a perfect opportunity to alleviate the stress of the past workweek, bond with teammates, and recharge before the start of a new week.
The heart of LIMS lies in promoting recreational soccer across Long Island, offering men over 30 a chance to engage in organized league play. We cherish the tradition of fair play and friendship, reflecting the essence of our sport beyond the competitive edge.
With a focus on accessibility and enjoyment, our objective is to expand our league's family. We aim to increase team membership and welcome individual players, ensuring a seamless introduction to our league and the joy of soccer.
We promise to uphold the integrity of recreational soccer by maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. Adherence to FIFA rules, with a few thoughtful exceptions, underscores our commitment to fair play.
The December General Membership meeting is a cornerstone event, reinvigorating our teams and setting the stage for the upcoming year with a new schedule. It's a time of renewal, celebration, and friendship, culminating in our holiday league party.

"I have been playing in the LIMS league since 1993. I have played with the North shore for two seasons and with the Hicksville Old Stars for 28 years.
One of the advantages of playing in this league was that I met so many people over the years and made so many friends. Some of these friends have been like family to me."
"Discovering the West Hempstead team in the LIMS league reignited my passion for soccer at age 34, after a 14-year hiatus due to a college injury. The league's competitive spirit rekindled my love for the game and deepened my understanding of its intricacies.
Over 25 years of play, not only did I evolve as a player and a manager, but I also forged lasting friendships and had the unique honor of sharing the field with my son. My time in LIMS has been filled with more than just matches; it's been a journey of camaraderie, growth, and family.”
